Christian Wienands - Senior Composite PM/Engineer

MS, Mechanical Engineering, University of Aachen

Christian Wienands is the President of CW Textiles, Inc. He is a graduate mechanical engineer from the University of Aachen, Germany and is one of the world’s leading design experts for knitting machines. From 1994-1996, he designed automated sewing machines for both automotive and medical applications for FEG Textiltechnik mbH. From 1996 through 2003, Christian was head of new technologies at Liba Maschinenfabrik GmbH, primarily for knitting machines with multiaxial weft insertion systems. For the years 1999-2003, he was President of the International Paramax Committee (IPC). In 2003, he transferred to American Liba, becoming President in 2006. Eight years later, he established CW Textiles, Inc.

Mr. Wienands has been responsible for several projects in cooperation with the German government, the aviation industry and the automotive industry. He is co-author of several patents on the improvement of multi-axial fabrics.
